Elodie & Franck's July Wedding was simply charming. Before the wedding they'd asked me to help them with a French tradition of taking their 'couple' photos several days before the wedding so they could present a series of photos at the wedding reception. Yes, this tradition does mean that couples don't have the surprise of seeing each other for the first time in their wedding attire on their big day, but many explain to me that the surpise is for their friend's and family.
We captured their photos in the park of their village and in the cornfields of Franck's family farm in the Normandy countryside. As the theme of the wedding was farm and countryside we also did a few photos including some of their own cows, with the help of his father.
Elodie and Franck's wedding preparations were held at her parent's house, also a farm in Cambernon. It was just a short drive to the village for the civil ceremony at the Mairie (the Town Hall) and a short walk to the church for the religious ceremony. The Vin d'honneur was then held at the local village hall. Then the guests who were invited to the evening reception drove a short way to the beach at Gouville-sur-Mer for the group photos and a relax.
The wedding reception was then held at a beautiful venue, a converted barn near Coutances. Their colour theme was ivory and bordeaux. The evening was filled with lots of fun, emotion, traditional French Wedding reception games. It was a wonderful wedding that finished late. The sun was actually rising as I got back in my car to drive home!
