Family Photographer - A flame-haired girl in a Normandy forest - Autumn photo-shoot

This is why I encourage everyone to discover and make the most of the Normandy forests at the moment. The colours are just stunning. This isn't about me trying to gain more work. I just hope that everyone can experience it, whether it's with me as your photographer, with another professional or with your own camera. Now is the time to capture images of you and your family with the most stunning backdrops, all provided for free by mother nature. Who can ask for more.

This photo shoot for Alice with her flame-red hair was organised a few hours before we did it. She'd just returned from holiday and the weather was perfect. We met in Saint Sever and drove to the little car park. The site that met us all was just stunning. I could have done the entire photo-shoot without moving me feet. In every direction there were photo opportunities with the sun behind her, to the side or directly in front. The floor of the forest was carpeted with beautiful orange leaves.

Someone commented to me on facebook that her hair colour might get lost amongst all the autumnal colours but I believe that they compliment each other perfectly. She was a little shy at the beginning as many people are for their first photo-shoot with a professional photographer, but she relaxed into it as I helped her relax by asking her to move and play and by making her laugh. Sometimes you'll see that I've asked her not to smile to achieve a more poignant photo and other times I've encouraged her personality to shine. She was fantastic.
